Betsy Farms Jerky changed recipe and packaging. Did not receive what I expected. Big disappointment for poochies.
The product in the picture is not the product that was shipped. For the past year or so Betsy Farms has been changing their Chicken Jerky recipe and my dogs hate the new stuff. It stinks to high heavens and has a whole different list of ingredients.I purchased all of the bags of the old version at my local WalMarts last year and ordered some form Amazon and it was still the old version. When I reordered and received the product, I was highly disappointed. This stuff is rank. It stinks, it has a different texture, it looks completely different than the old stuff and my dogs absolutely hate it.This is what arrived (not 3 pounds but the 28 ounce bags. I am referring to the packaging and recipe)[…]ugh. No more of this for me or my dogs, I am off in search of the older version.

These are good but not jerky
These are good but not jerky. They have a meaty, cardboard texture. I was expecting actual dried meat jerky. Irregardless, the dogs like them.

Duck Treats For Dogs-They LIKE ‘EM!
My dogs really like this product. It’s about 6 inches long by 1 inch wide strips. I keep them in the freezer to keep them fresh and to give a little more chewing time. They smell good, and the package is resealable. Made in the USA, all natural. I plan to buy more.

I am an old retired man and have happy hour every afternoon
I am an old retired man and have happy hour every afternoon. When I get a glass of wine my dogs get a Betsy Farm Jerky or a Nature’s Domain tweet and they love it. They meet me at the door when I come back to my patio chair with a fresh drink. It is a wonderful life.

One dog ate it and the other one didn’t.
Was expecting more jerky type strips, this was more like chopped meat pressed together into strips. One dog ate it and the other sniffed it and walked away. She usually isn’t hard to please with treats.

Strange texture
These have a weird texture and my 90 pound german shepherd lets them lay around awhile before he eats them. He is pretty picky so take that with a grain of salt. He prefers the turkey Jerky from Costco. I live on an island, I don;t get the opportunity to get Costco items every time I need them.

Natural Treat
My German Shepherd Molly gets a treat all the time when she comes in from going “potty”. I have these treats broken into pieces in a container by the door and give her a piece. She loves them and they are more natural than a lot of other stuff out there for dogs.

Disappointed!!!
These are not the same Betsy Farms Natural Duck Jerky Treats that I have bought for years. The package looks completely different & NO that is not the reason for bad review just wanted you to know. The problem with the product is it’s NOT same texture, they dried out Really quick & got Hard, NOT the same smell, & apparently NOT the same taste because my 7yr old German Shepherd who has always LOVED these was NOT impressed! I finally got her to eat one & after that if I tried to hand her one she would take it in the next room & just let it lay, she eventually refused to take it at all.

My dog and grand dog absolutely love these and go crazy when they hear the package. The bag is a little hard to reseal but I put treats in a plastic container once I open them anyway. For the money this is s good deal and made in USA.

Price per pound can’t be beat
My dogs love this. I can’t beat the price per pound. We have to ration them to one a day or we will run out quickly. This brand has long strips instead of crumbles, so the dogs get a lot of chew time out of one strip. I have tried many brand and this is definately the most treats for the money.

My pups will do almost anything for these treats. They make great training treats as they can be broken into small pieces. There is no unpleasant odor or greasiness about this item. My dogs give them 4 paws up.

Best dog treats out there!
I used to get these at Sam’s Club, but Sam’s stopped carrying them. My dogs love em! I tried a few other brands, but really prefer the Betsy Farms brand. Found em on Amazon w/ pricing comparable to Sam’s. Arrived fresh and exactly as described. Good deal – I’ll definitely buy here again.

Not actual jerky!
These are like a processed blend of chicken-ish flavored things pressed into soft uniform strips. The name says it, …”jerky RECIPE”, ie, not jerky. I keep buying these by accident thinking they are my jerky order due to the misleading name.They are EXTREMELY soft, not chewy at all. So if you are looking for real, authentic jerky that will take your dog more than 0.2 seconds to chew and is healthy and natural, this is not it. That said, my dog does like them, so, not a complete waste as long they are only a very occasional treat. Again, NOT JERKY.

Good Product. Too Smoky For Me.
Quantity was more than I expected (which is good). Shipping and delivery were on time. Honestly, my dogs are so-so about this jerky. The smoke flavor is a bit too intense for my nose. Not something I would buy again. That being said, if smoky flavored jerky is your dogs thing, then go for it!

Eh…
My dog loves to eat and drink anything. We were very excited to find jerky that did not have chicken, since our dog is allergic to it. We were looking for a “high value” treat to help her deal with he anxiety in public. I read reviews about people saying the treats felt weird but ordered them anyway. They do feel weird-not like real jerky-but I don’t mind. They are generally easy to tear and that’s what I was hoping for. Unfortunately, my dog is not as hot about these as I thought.

My dog is nuts for duck jerky treats!
My dog loves your duck jerky treats. Every time she comes inside she expects to get two treats, if she doesn’t get them she just lays down and stares at me until I give in and give them to her. In the winter she goes out about five or six times a day, so I had to cut the treats right down the center so she thinks she is still getting two treats when she is only getting one. I don’t bother buying any other type of treats cause she won’t even eat them.

Dogs LOVE these, easy for dogs to chew.
This bag has a LOT of jerky in it. I clean houses, house sit/dog sit, and have my own dog, when the sound of the package is heard they come running. I also take one or two sticks (soft), break them into small bites and sprinkle it on their food. Between the very pleasant smell, and the dogs response, it is a treat that I will try to keep around. I carry a small zip lock bag with me with a couple of these strips, place them in my purse, the dogs know it.

I started buying this chicken jerky for my dogs at Sam’s Club, they stopped carrying it, so found it here on Amazon. The chicken is ground up and form into jerky sticks. I like this better than other chicken jerky treats that look like dried chicken since I worry about how sharp the piece can be dried that way. These are easy to break into pieces so I can tuck them into a Kong. Our dog looks forward to getting his daily treat.Updated review 9/28/17Purchased 2 bags of these jerky treats again for my dog but was disappointed with the quality of this recent batch. They looked different then previously purchased one, very dry and they crumble to the touch, though there is a date on the bag of 4/14/18. The print on the bag is the same as ones I purchased from Sam’s Club at 18 months ago before the change in graphics as pictured by Amazon. I have included a picture of previous treats (on the left) and the ones received recently (on the right).

Is a processed Jerky
I didn’t read the item carefully. I like to purchase duck jerky that is just meat jerky. This Item is a processed jerky like treat. I should have realized with the price. Dog does not like processed jerky so I will not buy again. If you have a dog that does not care you should be okay. There are a lot of ingredients in this bag, so be aware of that. Again I should have read packaging. I liked that it was made in USA and I think that it mainly what I looked at.

I read the reviews before purchasing: No, these are not “jerky” however if you leave them out for a few days they get hard. My dog prefers them tougher but will eat them right out of the bag. Great product, my girls go crazy for them.
My 2 girls just love them- they let me know every night before bed that they get 2 strips each- broken into 4 pieces per strip so they last longer and they think they are getting a lot. They go crazy for them and know right where they are kept and will not settle until they have them. I like that they are made in USA , very reasonably priced and I can break them up easily.

My dogs love these!!!! I can shake this bag and they will stop in the middle of a squirrel chase and come running back to me to get one. I am not joking. They love the natural chicken ones too. One time they got into a bag I had accidentally left on the floor. They ate half of it before I noticed. No puking, no diarrhea, so I am very pleased with this product. My dogs are 20 pounds each.

Chicken Snacks Great
I love them cause my dog, Miniature Schnauzer, loves them. The first thing when I wake up she is there waiting, and that makes me happy. No artificial colors, ingredients, or smells, just pure USA Chicken. For anyone wondering these are the same as the ones they carry at SAMS. Since we only go there once a month, it’s nice to know I can have them shipped 2 days and my Boo Boo will never run out.

Economical, yummy, no health issues, USA made
I received the 3 lb (48 oz) package as advertised. My two spoiled, senior-age dogs absolutely love these. We’ve been buying these for a couple of years now, they each get one at bedtime and it’s still the highlight of their day. The dog’s love ’em and they have remained in fine health while enjoying these. These are one of the less expensive chicken jerky options and are American made, thus: 5 stars from us.

Not sure if this is what I bought, but I know what I got.
my dog is not as happy with them, as i was about the price. He has starting leaving them half eaten and wont even take them from my hand any more. I was not happy with the resealable bag either. Only after a couple of open and closes, the ziplock in side of bag came off. Treats were real moist and now they have stated to dry out. And I ain’t no farmer but I thought BARLEY was a wheat. Front of bag says “Wheat Free Dog Treat”. But ingredients has Barley as 2nd spot on list.

Not the Best
I bought this product when Kingdom Pets jerky went up a great deal in price. My dogs will eat this, but it is not the same quality as the other and I will pay the higher price for the product that they like.

Horrible Jerky!!!
I cannot believe the garbage that this organization is putting out in their bags. Thru out the months I have seen this chicken jerky go from good to worse. The jerky is now extremely dry to the point it flakes or becomes like a powder when you try to break it in smaller pieces. I use this product to train my Champion American Eskimo dogs but really am never going to orger this jerky again. Too bad this company has not continued to be more consistent in the way they produce their jerky. What I see now is they are taking too many shortcuts and putting out a horrible product. Please go back to the way you used to produce this product and stay there.

He LOVES them! Great treats
I have a 50lb 6 month old Goldendoodle and these are his heroine. He gobbles them down pretty fast (Maybe 4 minutes at most) so they’re more of a treat than a chewy. They’re easy to tear up into smaller pieces though so they make excellent little rewards.

Good with sensitive stomach.
My dog suffers from a sensitive stomach and has to eat special food. This is the only treat I have found that she likes which does not upset her stomach. I too wish it was cheaper; but her food is $35 for a 5 lbs. bag, so I am used to expensive!

Softer than 100% duck jerky
Great for small or older dogs that have a hard time chewing tougher snacks. These are much softer to chew than 100% duck jerky. My 17 year old loves them.

great taste and made in USA
my son has a 120lb Tamaskin and he absolutely loves them, he loves these better than any treat I’ve found. Originally bought them at Menard’s and when they stopped carrying them I searched online, I’ve bought them many times now and this is the best price I can find too =)Addition to my review, the product is great, but the shipper leaves a lot to be desired. Ordered on Oct 27, 2023… product finally shipped today November 1, 2023… wish I could say this is a one off, but every order has taken forever. Last order they sent 1 chicken and 1 duck despite having ordered 2 duck. Unfortunately, the error was not caught till after the product had been opened, so because I didn’t catch it I didn’t feel it was fair to contact the seller to complain. They do have the best price, but not getting it in a reasonable timeframe is irritating at best, this will be the last time I am buying from this seller. I will however continue to buy this product as it is amazing.

These please my beasts.
I think this is a good buy.The treat consistency is like those chopped and pressed jerky treats you find at the gas station near the peanuts.Has a good smell when you open the bag, not too strong with the smoke smell.I had bought the previous version which was like dried chicken strips, those were probably overall a bit healthier, but they were sharp and crumbly at times and one of our hounds has problem digesting the really dry meat treats.This verison has some extra ingredients but the hounds dont seem to care.and others have said they contain sugar and other things, but the last two batches we received did not have anything like that. The most recent order arrived on 9/4/2018 and the ingredients are not what others are saying they are…photo proof in the images.Having 3 large dogs will burn through treats so I like buying in bulk. The 3 lb. bag is sufficient.I am pleased with the price and that they are made in the USA.We do not feed the dogs a huge amount of treats and we reinforce training and disipline with affection.I stand by the training motto of: “I don’t always have treats, but I always have love.”These pups are my life and I feel good about giving them this as a reward.PLUS how can I say no to those faces!PROS:• Good price• Large qauntity package• Treat size is substancial (4.25″ x 1.25″) Sometimes I scissor them in half to make the treats last longer. My Dogs Just Love These Treats! And They’re Made in the USA!Betsy Farms Natural Chicken Jerky Recipe Dog Treats, 48 oz
This is the fourth bag of this product that I purchased. My dogs absolutely love it! If you keep it sealed up, the jerky treats stay chewy and soft. I only give my dogs one piece every day just before bedtime but they know where the bag stays and beg for more every time I take them outside. These treats are very high quality treats and are made in the USA from American raised chickens so no worries about dangerous chemicals being added. There are also no wheat products added for dogs like mine that have allergies. This is the only treat that I buy for my 3 little ones.

My doggie baby loves these, and they are healthy, reasonably priced and made in the USA!! I have reordered many times, and will continue to do so!! It my girl didn’t get one every day, she’d be a sad doggie. She knows they are part of her morning routine and expects me to “fetch” them for her! Thank you Betsy Farms for your wonderful products! Our Sam’s outlet had them at one time in a bigger bag which meant a better price, but they no longer carry them and I’m happy to find them on Amazon!

Great safe treat if your dog can eat duck flavored with chicken livers
Buy this all the time. My dogs really like it, and it’s made of American ducks where we have less problems with poultry disease killing not only therm but cats, dogs and people. Love that it’s quality controlled goodness I can give my fur kids without worry.update…one of my dogs started getting sick after his treat….double checked the ingredients!!!!uggh!!!! CONTAINS Chicken liver! Why chicken? If I’m feeding divisive got a reason! Mine? My dog is allergic to chicken!…so safe if your dog can eat chicken but wants another flavor, if there is a problem with chicken , for now, i suggest going with their new Grillers in Duck. At the moment they have no chicken in them.

Dog loves it
The only thing I don’t like, is they don’t last very long. The dog eats them like candy, instead of staying occupied for a couple minutes with chewing, like the other jerky we get for him does. Then plus side is the price and the quantity and the quality. These smell good enough that I almost want to taste them almost.

Neighborhood Dogs Love Them!
I buy these treats for the neighborhood dogs, and they all like them! They rarely have issues because it looks and smells just like soft jerky. And in my mind, it is nutrition for them. One dog, who doesn’t have much of an appetite for any food lately, will always eat these, so I consider it a win!

My old dog loves them
I have been cooking everything I could think of to entice my dog to eat. Medications didn’t work and she was eating a bit of peanut butter, nothing else. This duck jerky arrived today and she loves it! I am so happy to see her eating. I am not sharing any of it with the three others until I get some more..

Betsy Farms 48 Oz Chicken Jerky
Got the order and it was a 40 oz bag! 🙁 Seller states that there was a mix up….I am not so sure about this excuse…I checked and it is still listed as 48 oz. I would HIGHLY recommend that you go to a different seller…you can get better prices than this for the 40 oz bags. I like the product, and so do my dogs, but I won’t be buying from this seller again! :(UPDATE: I heard from the seller again and I believe they are trying to make this right, and this maybe a ligit mistake. So I am going to say that I’ll retract the statement that I won’t use this seller again and will wait and see if the description gets changed. My faith in them is being bolstered by their good customer service.

Duck is normally my dogs’ favorite however neither would even taste this. Both turned away. Money wasted!!
My dogs eat duck jerky all the time…they fell in love with the Cadet Jerky, but I’m sure most dog owners know of the fiasco with finding that after the China ordeal. While it was hard to find (as Costco quit selling it), we looked around for other brands. We have bought several and they are all a bit pricey, so imagine my excitement upon finding this item on Amazon that looked so very economical.Well, there is a saying “you get what you pay for” for a reason.Immediately upon arrival my husband told me the meat in the package looked “nasty” and he did not want the dogs to eat it. So, I tried to do a return on Amazon within just a few days after arrival but it came up as “ineligible for return”.Since it could not be returned, I thought oh well, let’s at least open it then and see what the dogs think. I will admit my two Maltese are PICKY, but I’ve never seen a duck jerky they would not eat until this bag arrived. More money wasted because they both sniffed it and walked away.

Used to buy these treats locally but my local retailer stopped carrying the treats. After finding them on Amazon at basically the same price as the retailer and with Prime free shipping I actually save a little money. My dogs (a golden-doodle and a shih tzu) go crazy over this duck jerky! You do have to keep it sealed, or it tends to dry out (but they still like it dried out). The fact that it is made in America from American raised poultry makes me feel good about giving it to my dogs. I will definately order it again and again.

Our two hounds come running when we say “duck!” And they wrestle for each bite. We break the strips into small pieces so treat time lasts a minute or two instead of them doing a grab and run 😄

My dog only has to hear “duck treat” and I have his attention instantly! He can be willfully deaf at times, but experiences a sudden “recovery” when that bag rustles or I say “duck treat.” He loves these. Not only is this a great deal but the jerky is moist and seems very fresh. I’m really happy with these treats.

Just sucks that I have to give my pup 3 strips …
They’re not as large as they used to be but my pup still loves them. Just sucks that I have to give my pup 3 strips to equal the size of 1 strip of what they used to be.

High quality treats
My dog is a standard poodle– a breed known for sensitive stomachs– and she will not keep down anything but high-quality (usually expensive!) food. Daisy is on her second bag of these treats. She gets half a strip every day (the long strips are easy to tear btw) and loves them. Dogs can’t gulp them down because they are chewy, which of course is also helpful for the digestive process. They smell smoky. I wish they were edible for people!
