Nissin, the Original Instant Ramen
Witnessing a dire food shortage in Japan after WWII, an industrious businessman set out to produce a simple and affordable solution to feed the masses. Our founder, Momofuku Ando, was convinced that “Peace will come to the world when the people have enough to eat.” After years of experimentation, in 1958, “Chikin Ramen” was officially released and sparked a 3-minute global revolution. For more than 60 years, Mr. Ando’s spirit of innovation continues to provide simple, nourishing delight to billions of people around the world.
Nissin in the US
On a trip to the U.S. in 1966, Momofuku Ando noticed Americans curiously eating forkfuls of noodles out of cups, instead of using bowls and chopsticks. With that simple observation, the worldwide Cup Noodles phenomenon was born. Shortly after, Nissin officially put down its roots in the U.S. In 1972, our Gardena, CA, plant started production of Top Ramen—the first instant ramen manufactured and sold in the U.S. And ever since, Nissin Foods USA has launched a continuous stream of new and innovative products for hungry, noodle-loving Americans.

Good quick and easy meal
My husband and I enjoy these on those night were cooking is a chore. They are flavorful, but we do prefer to add a little extra chicken bullion, it’s not absolutely necessary. I like these noodles better then other versions because they tend to have a bit more bite and are a little more chewy than others.

Convenient. Tasty with little aftertaste.
The Nissin Chow Mein in Teriyaki flavor is convenient.Adding vegetables and an egg makes for a convenient quick lunch/snack.The noodle is pretty good and chewy, it soaked up the water and sauce quite well. The teriyaki flavor is good despite being a bit salty to some, the sauce has a slight aftertaste (probably from the sucralose, wish they could do without this sweetener). In terms of packaging, do wish that the dried vegetables were in a separate packet, as at the end of the microwave cycle, most of them spilled everywhere.

Every bit as good as Maruchen Yakisoba
Every bit as good as Maruchen Yakisoba, but usually much cheaper. Teriyaki isn’t too sweet, which is good and unusual. Cooking directions call for 5 minutes on high- that’s WAY too much time- start with 3 minutes and see how it goes.

Overpriced ramen with a syrup packet
If you want chow mein this isn’t for you. It’s expensive ramen with a teriyaki syrup blister pack. Follow the microwave directions, pour in the syrup, and get used to disappointment. You can get ramen, and a bottle of teriyaki, for less at the store. This isn’t going to work for lunch-on-the-go or a quick-and-easy snack. If you follow the microwave directions the noodles end up mushy and waterlogged. On the stovetop they come out better, but at that point you may as well get cheap ramen packs instead. If you want inexpensive lunches from the microwave in the break room I recommend Campbell’s 15oz soups. They cost a bit more, but are quick, easy and actually taste good.

Great for the price
The packaging came undamaged, and the bowls are like a hard plastic, doesnt seem like thin plastic which is great. 5 Minutes in the microwave and 1 minute to sit is nice and quick compared to having to boil water on the stove and then cook noodles in it. Oddly the noodles didnt smell like anything after I cooked them, like no scent at all. It says Teriyaki Chicken flavor but it tasted more fishy than anything. Now the fishy taste was very subtle, and I am completely fine with the fishy flavor but some other might not, but it did come from the sauce packet which obviously you dont have to add.(edit: after finishing all 8, I do have 2 complaints. The first being that the adhesive used on the actual lid is WAY to strong for something like food packaging, I only had 1 pack in my box that I had no trouble opening, all the rest look like it was opened by a raptor. Second, Only 1 of the packs I made didnt overflow in the microwave making a big mess, I have the recommended wattage microwave and did all the cooking instructions as the package says and it still overflows.)
